Sordo Madaleno is an architecture studio established in 1937, with offices in Mexico City and London. Our design approach is grounded in a deep connection to place—drawing on the history, materials, and cultural memory of the landscapes in which we work. We see architecture as a dialogue between past and present, shaped by inherited knowledge and contemporary insight.
Model making is a vital part of our process. It allows us to explore ideas in physical form and test how spaces might take shape. Through making, we engage with materials, refine decisions, and bring abstract concepts into clearer focus.
Our workshop is a space for experimentation and close engagement with craft. It reflects our belief that design should emerge from a direct relationship with tools, techniques, and the physical world. For us, making is the foundation from which new ideas grow.
